Who we are

The Orchestra Session CIC ("we", "us", "our") is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales, company number 17388342. Our registered office is 1 Galahad House, Fellows Rise, Winchester, SO22 5TF. For any question about this notice or how we handle your information, contact us at mail@theorchestrasession.com.

What this notice covers

This notice explains what information theorchestrasession.com collects when you visit, why, and what choices you have. It doesn't cover the separate services you may use to interact with us — Eventbrite, easyfundraising, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or your own email provider — each has its own privacy policy, linked below.

Cookies and analytics

We use one non-essential cookie-setting service: Google Analytics (GA4), which helps us understand how many people visit the site and which pages they find useful, so we can improve it.

We don't activate Google Analytics until you click Accept on the cookie banner shown when you first visit. If you click Decline, Google Analytics stays switched off and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page.

When active, Google Analytics may set the following cookies:

These cookies collect information such as pages viewed, time spent on the site, approximate location (derived from IP address), and the device and browser you're using. This data is pseudonymous — Google Analytics doesn't tell us your name or email address — and is processed by Google Ireland Limited under Google's own privacy policy.

Legal basis: your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and PECR regulation 6). You're free to decline or withdraw consent at any time without affecting your ability to use the site.

Fonts

This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Loading these doesn't set a cookie, but your browser does make a direct request to Google's servers, which receives your IP address as a normal, unavoidable part of that request. We rely on legitimate interest for this — good typography, at minimal privacy cost — but you can block it with a browser extension or content blocker if you'd prefer.

Getting in touch with us

The "Register Your Interest" and "keep me updated" buttons on this site open a pre-filled email in your own email application, addressed to mail@theorchestrasession.com. Nothing you enter is transmitted to or stored by our website itself — it's sent, from you to us, exactly as any other email would be, and is then kept in our inbox in the same way as our other correspondence, for as long as we need it.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry, or consent where you're asking to join our mailing list.

Ticketing

When you click "Purchase Tickets" you're taken to Eventbrite, a separate company that sells and processes payment for your ticket. Eventbrite is a separate data controller for the information you give them there (such as your name, email, and payment details) — see Eventbrite's own privacy policy. We only receive summary information about ticket sales from Eventbrite, such as how many tickets have sold — never your card details.

Donations

The "Donate" button takes you to a secure payment page hosted by Bankifi (Taplynk), an open banking payment provider, to make a bank-to-bank donation. Bankifi is a separate data controller for the information you give them there (such as your name, bank details, and payment amount) — see Bankifi's own privacy policy. We only receive confirmation that a donation has been made, not your bank account details.

easyfundraising and social media

Links to easyfundraising, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube take you to services run by other companies, each with its own privacy policy. We don't control what those services do with your data once you're there.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email mail@theorchestrasession.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can also complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), or call 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the site or our use of these services changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.

This notice was drafted to reflect UK GDPR and PECR good practice for a simple, cookie-consent-gated analytics setup like this site's. It isn't legal advice — worth a quick review by a solicitor or your CIC's own governance process if you want full certainty, particularly once the site starts collecting anything beyond analytics (for example, if you later add an on-site ticket checkout instead of linking out to Eventbrite).
